The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education developed a reading program entitled: "Sensational Strategies for Teaching Beginning Readers" to allow parents to participate in their child's reading development. The multi-sensory phonics program is based on the research based Orton-Gillingham method used by leading educators accross the country. The IMSE has developed this program to empower parents to give their children a head start on the basics of reading, to support beginning readers, and to assist children who are struggling with the reading process. Teaching reading to your child, providing phonics instruction, and watching your child's reading development progress is a deeply rewarding experience for parent tutors. This multi-sensory, highly structured, phonic program is fun for all students but can be expecially helpfull for the slow learner, the student with dyslexia, or any child with a learning disability or disabilities which interferes with his reading development.
